NEED SOME REST?
Have you ever been so busy that you didn't have time to eat? Do you find people coming and going all around you, and you don't know which need to meet next? Or maybe you've got a big decision to make, and you just don't know what direction to go?
Sometimes when my husband, Dan, returns home from a difficult day at work, he makes me tired just listening to his experiences of the day. Often he admits to me that he didn't even have time to stop and eat lunch. I see him rushing out the door many mornings before sunrise without any breakfast.

So when Dan comes home, wound up tight, talking about the stresses of his day, I often suggest that he just sit in the quiet and relax, while I prepare our dinner. He might sit outside on our front porch and listen to the wind blow in the trees. Or he may just sit alone in our family room—no TV, internet, phone calls, e-mail, or text messaging.
Today, I'm beginning a series on "rest." I hope you'll join me for the next few days, as we look at that topic.
