TUCK'S TOP TEN CHRISTMAS OBSERVATIONS
I think you'll enjoy this post from Tuck Mantooth, describing his "Top Ten Christmas Observations."
Tuck's Top Ten Christmas Observations
1. I slept in a bed with a black spider last night and didn't get bitten. I flushed him at 6 a.m. after my wife screamed.
2. Driving to Little Rock, I saw a young divorced mother on her knees in a gas station parking lot hugging two small children before their dad took them for the day in his pickup truck.
3. I witnessed my daughter feed her brown Tarantula a one-inch meal worm.
4. When I started my fire in my fireplace a moth flew into the fire and became a wick.
5. It is good when my wife runs low on blackberries and substitutes cherries in my Christmas pie.
6. Deer hunters in their camouflage stink when they come out of woods for a burger.
7. If you go to sleep in front of a fire, you can burn your feet pads.
8. Twin babies born on Christmas eve laid side-by-side actually look like a baby in a mirror.
9. My Christmas tree is begging me to put him back in the box in my garage.
10. When eating Christmas leftovers, the spinach dip tastes better than the pimento cheese.
That's 10! However, since regrets and disappointing memories knock on my door trying to ruin the hours of peace, I must get up and be sure the door is locked for the day.

What were your top ten Christmas 2011 observations?

1. The older my family becomes, the less important gifts seem to be.
2. Christmas doesn’t feel like Christmas without a little snow.
3. If I shop early, I have time to pause and enjoy the beauty of the season.
4. If I don’t get cookies baked, no one will notice. There are so many other delicacies to choose from during the holidays.
5. A surprise visit from my military son in Afghanistan can make the holidays complete.
6. It’s fun to dance to Christmas music, even if it’s in my own living room.
7. Getting video games can be as much fun for a grandma as it is for the kids.
8. Life’s biggest blessing is having all of my kids and their families in church for Christmas Eve service with me.
9. Going out on Christmas Eve to pick-up a last minute deal can be fun if my shopping is already done beforehand.
10. Christmas is a celebration of the heart that reflects the love of our Savior.

My top ten Christmas observations:
1. The Christmas cookie-decorating contest was a big hit—everyone was a winner!
2. The grandkids still look to see who has the biggest present under the tree.
3. Small children don’t “get” the dirty Santa game—they cry when they don’t like their present or someone takes it away.
4. I don’t mind the cooking, but the cleanup … well, that’s another story!
5. I love all the kids and g-kids coming to my house early on Christmas Eve, so they leave early enough to get to bed before Santa arrives.
6. Christmas cards don’t have to go out before Christmas or even New Year's Day! Do they?
7. I LOVE ordering Christmas presents online! I really don't like to shop much anymore! Honestly, I never did!
8. Be sure and wrap the batteries with the gifts that need them—or at least know where you put the batteries that you bought for the gifts!
9. I love that my daughter and daughter-in-law plan fun Christmas activities for the kids!
10. I am truly blessed! Thank you, Lord!
