Voice Recognition—Tip Four: Embrace the Power of Christ in You

“…Those who enter into Christ's being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death” (Romans 8:1-2 MSG).

What distracts you from hearing God’s Voice? Sometimes I become distracted from God’s voice by the worries and stress of everyday life. Yet when I choose to focus on God’s Word, listening for His still, small voice, I find truth and peace for my troubled heart and mind.

Many times my prayer is for God to just “show up.” And at times, He “shows up" in the strangest places—like this morning, as I listened to the chorus of birds singing again. I realized that I still could not tell one species from another. But in my spirit I knew that I was listening to a symphony of praise to our Creator. “Let every living, breathing creature praise God! Hallelujah!” (Psalm 150:6).
