FOUR STEPS TO REST IN GOD'S FORGIVENESS
If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6: 14-15 NLT)
My grandson, Miles, reminded me of this scripture recently. Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling. The following scriptures also help me to REST in God's Promise of forgiveness.
1. Remember: "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins" (Mark 11:25).
2. Exalt: "Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases" (Ps. 103:1).
3. Surrender: Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing ..."(Luke 22:34)
4. Trust: "I am teaching you today—yes, you— so you will trust in the LORD" (Proverbs 22:19).
