Better than a Hallelujah
"Still, when God saw the trouble they were in and heard their cries for help, He remembered his Covenant with them, and, immense with love, took them by the hand. He poured out his mercy on them while their captors looked on, amazed" (Psalm 106:43 MSG).
Yesterday, I wrote about just "surviving" during difficult times. Today, when a friend sent me a Facebook message, I noticed this video that she had posted on her Facebook page earlier. It reminded me of God's unconditional love and mercy for His children, especially when they are trying to "survive."
We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah.
(Sarah Hart and Chapin Hartford, "Better than a Hallelujah")
This song also reminds me how much the music of Amy Grant has encouraged me through the years. And as I searched for a link to the songwriters online, I discovered Sarah Hart's website. So, I enjoyed listening to her music as I wrote this post. I hope you will check her site out, too!
I pray the words and truth of this song and video encourages you today.
