Beauty for Ashes
"... To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified"
(Isaish 61:2-3 NKJV).
They were just an ordinary couple,
Clinging to a promise,
After they had lost their little child.
But He had said that joy would come once again for them;
They just had to wait a little while.
He promised them: “… beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
We are all very special people,
Who can cling to His promises,
No matter what we may be going through.
For He has said that joy will come once again for us.
Don’t give up, whatever you may do!
He promises, “… beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That (you) may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord that He may be glorified."

Have you ever held on to a promise from God's Word, when you felt like giving up?
