Squinting in a fog?

"We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!" (1 Corinthians 13:12 MSG).

For some reason, I find comfort in this passage in God's Word. So often, I struggle with trying to understand what's going on in my life. I try to follow the right path, only to face a dead end. Sometimes, even when I think I finally have direction, it just doesn't pan out the way I imagined.

Promise. So this scripture in 1 Corinthians explains those kind of moments for me. We just will not figure out some things until we get to Heaven. There, all our questions will be answered, all our sicknesses healed, and all our tears wiped away. (Revelation 21:4)

Question. A long time ago, someone asked me what I imagined Heaven would be like. A scene came to mind. I saw myself walking with Jesus on the shore of a beautiful beach, and He was answering all my questions.

Heaven. I guess I pictured a beach, since that is one of my favorite places to go. And Heaven to me is being there with Jesus, my Savior, Who promises to meet all my needs. (Phillipians 4:19)

What do you think Heaven will be like? Why do you think you imagine it that way?

Hearing sermons about Heaven and reading Randy Alcorn's book called Heaven have really changed how I think about it. I think of Heaven as the perfect New Earth and being with the Lord and everyone I love. Have you read Randy Alcorn's book about Heaven?

Yes, I appreciate hearing sermons and reading books about heaven. [Thanks for the tip on the book about Heaven by Randy Alcorn. I'll check that out!]  I've also learned a lot about heaven as I faced life and death issues with loved ones. At those times, I've found comfort as I embrace God's truth and promises about Heaven in His Word. Thanks for your thoughts, Mary!
