So Long, Bradford Pear!

I planted you so long ago. And as I watched you grow, you spread your broad limbs over my lawn and gave me shade from the bright sunlight.
We’ve been through some harsh pruning together and many challenging times of change. Our journey together saw many storms and droughts. But we survived, and we grew in strength with every crisis. In every season of life, you encouraged me with your awesome display of beauty and strength.
You always surprised me with some of the first blossoms of springtime. Your summer leaves of green sparkled with the mist of our sprinkler, as two generations of children played under your branches in the sunshine. When you displayed your glorious colors of fall, you reminded me how much I love our Arkansas autumns. And as the snow fell gently on your sturdy branches, your limbs glowed in the moonlight.
I’ll miss you, Bradford Pear! I pray you enjoy many more children climbing your trunk and swinging from your branches. And I hope your new caretaker enjoys your companionship.
BLESSED ,
Karen
