Easter Gift by Linda Miller

God gave us a special present,
Early Christmas morn…
One with unlimited potential,
The day Our Lord was born.

The significance of this present
Was more than it appeared to be,
Seemingly at once cut short
That day on Calvary.

His followers were disheartened,
No joy to dispel their gloom,
As they remembered their last supper
Held in that upper room.

But God's ways always surprise us.
His is the Master Plan.
His thoughts are so much greater,
Than that of mortal man.

And so the Holy Baby
Became a living sacrifice.
Giving all for our redemption,
He paid a heavy price.

The true gift was not apparent
Until the wrapping was undone,
When the stone door finally opened
And revealed the empty tomb!
