"At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him" (John 12:16).

Sometimes it’s impossible to know the significance of events when I'm in the middle of them. But at times, I still find myself over-analyzing life. And I ask "Why?" way too often.

Jesus' disciples obviously were clueless about a few things, too. Even though Jesus explained many things to them personally as they followed Him, they still didn't understand everything that was taking place around them, especially concerning Jesus.

The fact that even the disciples didn’t understand the significance of the events surrounding Jesus, reassures me to let go of some of the troubling questions that I tend to focus on at times. Can I let them go for now? Not in my own strength. But "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13 NIV).

 
Revelation 21:4 also tells us, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

What a relief!
