BlogFast
"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matthew 6:16-18).
Sometimes we just have to "do without" something we think we need—like caffeine—to do some soul-searching and get back on the right track in life. And often as we "do without," we feel like we're dying (like when I attempted that last weight control program).
As a writer, to "do without" writing for any amount of time can also be quite painful—because that's just what I do. So, I pray that taking the last 40-plus days for some rest and re-evaluation will proved to be a productive process for me.
Hopefully, I'm getting my "act" together now. So, look for my upcoming posts—here—on the BLESSED DiaBlog—and on my BLESSED Journal. And I look forward to reading your comments.
Blessings! kj
"Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds" (John 12:24).
Can you remember a time when you had to "do without" something? What were the results?
