Barnes Legacy Story

Today, I posted another story by my brother, Tommy Barnes, called A Gulf Coast Breeze on the BLESSED Journal. I love receiving stories from my own family (hint, hint)!

For some reason, I can't remember a lot of the details of my childhood at times. So, it really helps my own writing process to read stories written by my other family members. Their stories prompt my own memories, and it also helps me see myself, especially my early life experiences, from another point of view.

Tommy's story brought back memories of my parents and each of my siblings. It also reminded me of the Texas Gulf Coast, where we spent a lot of time as a family on vacation and on fishing trips.

I know this story will bring back memories to you, too. You might think about a special fishing trip or family outing. Or it may help you examine the unique personalities of each of your own family members. You may want to write a simple descriptive narrative, like my brother wrote, that compares and contrasts the members of our family. His story may also remind you of a conflict in your family, or it my help you realized just how BLESSED you have been in your life.

Whatever you write or remember, I hope you will share it with our readers. And I look forward to hearing from you.

Blessings,

Karen

I love the picture! Talk about bringing back some memories! Wow! Great story, Tommy! I remember those personalities. What a patient, calm man your dad was. I remember my mom saying that if there were ever perfect people on earth, Gene Barnes is one. I can see him patiently tugging on that starter rope, fully confident that the motor will start. Great memories for you, I know. Enjoyed your story.

Hey Bibbie! I had hoped that I would get some feedback from you. I'm so proud of Tommy for sending another story for the blog. It brought back a lot of memories for me, too. I really appreciate your comment about my dad, too. We all miss him and Mother.

Thanks again for your faithful support of my blogs. Blessings, kj
