A Prompt and a Promise

"Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!" (Luke 1:45)

What does this scripture mean to you? What did you think about when you read the passage? Can you relate this promise to your own life—a life experience or lesson? Another scripture or biblical truth?

I read this passage as I worked on a writing project today. And honestly, sometimes I find myself discouraged and tired of trying to accomplish what I sense the Lord directs me to do. I become too focused on my work, and I forget about the "real reason" that I write. And I forget that this work is not all about me—but about His Will in my life. And I can't depend upon my own abilities and strengths to accomplish what God calls me to do. So, I must learn to listen with spiritual ears—so I can hear the promises and direction that God speaks to me.

I believe this scripture promises that God also blesses me as I listen to Him and believe His promises.

I like the passage you referenced. All we have to do now is know when the voice of God is the one speaking, believe it, and ACT on it.

Often, when I sense God has told me or directed me to do something, I find roadblocks everywhere. This scripture gives me a sense of "go on" even when others do not understand what God is directing or bringing to my life.

Thanks again  for your comment, Buck.

Yes, it seems that the journey to our promised land is filled with roadblocks and detours. And I feel like I've been wandering in the wilderness for quite awhile now. But when I read about the children of Israel facing their promised land, I understand that they faced a lot of giants over there, too.

Someone once told me, "If the Lord doesn't come through, we're not going to make it."

      I agee!
