A Father's Day Blessing

"King David, a godly leader and father, penned this promise from the Lord: "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers" (Psalm 1:1-3).

This past weekend, as our family celebrated Father's Day, I realized how much the Lord has blessed our family with fathers who are strong, godly leaders in our homes. I believe that my husband, son, and son-in-law exemplify this blessed man in Psalm 1. And even though none of them claim perfection, I believe that they all desire to walk in integrity and righteousness.

The LORD also made a promise to David's son, Solomon—another godly leader and father: "If you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness...I will establish your way" (1 Kings 9:4). David and his son, Solomon, left legacies of integrity and righteousness.

May we all strive to leave a legacy of faith and blessings.
